APPLICATION CYCLE

The application cycle provides the following procedures:

1) PREPARATION OF THE SURFACES

The surfaces must be prepared by removing any remaining dirt (dust, algae, moss, previous treatments not perfectly anchored, etc.) and taking care to adopt all the measures required by current regulations for the protection of operators and to avoid the dispersion in the environment of particulates.

2) APPLICATION OF THE PRODUCT

The application can be made by roller, brush or spray (airless device with nozzle 31) respecting the quantities and the number of coats indicated in the cycles type A, type B and type C.

• • 2-1) Encapsulating coating TYPE A (to external view):
    STARBLOCK PRIMER as a hardener and promoter of adhesion; quantities to apply depend on the absorption of support (approximately 200-300 g/m²);
    STARBLOCK AMIANTO:
    First coat with dry thickness not less than 190 ± 10 ųm (equivalent to 420 g/m²);
    Second coat of contrasting colour with dry thickness not less than 130 ± 10 ųm (equivalent to 280 g/m²).
    Total dry thickness shall not be less than 300 ųm and the second layer of STARBLOCK shall not exceed the thickness of the first layer.
  • 2-2) Encapsulating coating TYPE B (to inside view):
    STARBLOCK PRIMER as a hardener and promoter of adhesion; quantities to apply depend on the absorption of support (approximately 200-300 g/m²);
    STARBLOCK AMIANTO:
    First coat with dry thickness not less than 160 ± 10 ųm (equivalent to 350 g/m²);
    Second coat of contrasting colour with dry thickness not less than 110 ± 10 ųm (equivalent to 250 g/m²).
    Total dry thickness shall not be less than 250 ųm and the second layer of STARBLOCK shall not exceed the thickness of the first layer.
  • 2-3) Encapsulating coating TYPE C (not in view, containment operations):
    STARBLOCK PRIMER as a hardener and promoter of adhesion; quantities to apply depend on the absorption of support (approximately 200-300 g/m²);
    STARBLOCK AMIANTO with dry thickness not less than 210 ± 10 ųm (two coats in amount of 250 g/m² each).
    Total dry thickness shall not be less than 200 ųm.

3) RECOMMENDED AMOUNT* (Yields)

* Quantities calculated on non-absorbent flat surfaces

Cycle type A: 700 g/m² total.
First coat equivalent to 420 g/m²;
Second coat of contrasting colour equivalent to 280 g/m².

Cycle type B: 600 g/m² total.
First coat equivalent to 350 g/m²;
Second coat of contrasting colour equivalent to 250 g/m².

Cycle type C: 500 g/m² total.
Two coats in amount of 250 g/m² each.
